5 & 6 September 09 – Exeter and Bridwell Park

in news

On Saturday 5th September I’ll be at the Exeter Green Fair, billed as the region’s oldest regular environmental event. This year it’s taking place in a beautiful location – on the green surrounding Exeter Cathedral. I’ll be under the watchful eye of those gargoyles.

The next day, Sunday 6th September, I’ll be at Bridwell Park Country Fair in Uffculme. Each year the Bridwell Park Estate hosts a fair to support local charities; this year it will be raising funds for Blue Cross, C-Group and NSPCC. The primary charity of this year’s event is the NSPCC, and they are dedicating their share of the donations to their Children’s Voice appeal which supports Childline, the free and confidential 24-hour helpline for children in distress or danger. The Blue Cross promotes animal welfare through education, support, rehoming and rescue. C-Group provides funds and support for Royal Marines in need, as a result of injuries sustained on operations since 2001.

Hopefully the weather will improve for this weekend!
