Rock wall

in Australia

The first thing that strikes you about Uluru (Ayers Rock, as it was temporarily called) is its size. Often you’ll see images taken from well back, to try to fit this monolith in the frame. But its looming presence  fills your vision as you approach, and catching only the lower third in the frame gives a better sense of its vast size. Fingers of rock bury themselves in the spinifex grass and the marks left by infrequent waterfalls trace down its sides.
